Get together

Good conversations
start somewhere.

A table, a few familiar faces, and a couple of new ones. Catch up, have a laugh, and get to know some other dads.

All meetups and areas

A community, first.

There’s more to us than the paperwork.

Appointments. School meetings. Work. The rest of life. It can be a lot.

Dadvocates is a place for fathers and male caregivers to meet people who understand some of that, without making it the only thing we talk about.

Kids, music, marriage, food, the thing you’re watching. Whatever’s on your mind.

The story behind Dadvocates

Yes, you belong.

Different families. Something in common.

Dads from all walks of life. Whether you spend your day on a jobsite, in an office, at home with the kids, or somewhere in between, you’ve got a place here.

Single dads, two-dad families, stepdads, adoptive and foster dads, grandfathers, guardians, and other male caregivers are welcome.

Your child might be three or thirty. You might have a diagnosis, or still be figuring things out. You don’t need an IEP, a particular school, or the right words.

Step 1

Find your people.

Join the list and tell us which part of town works for you.

Step 2

Come as you are.

A host will meet you and help with introductions. Listening counts.

Step 3

Make it a regular thing.

Stay for a while. Come back when you can. Life happens.

Before you come

A few good questions.

All the practical details
Can I come alone?

Absolutely. Find the table of dads and look for the Dadvocates sign. Pull up a chair and say hello.

Do I need a diagnosis or an IEP?

No. You don’t need a diagnosis, an IEP, a 504 plan, public-school enrollment, or a school-aged child.

Does it cost anything?

Joining is free. Our goal is free meetups; you pay for any food or drinks you choose. Any future activity with a cost will say so before you RSVP.

Do I have to drink?

No. Drinking is optional. We choose venues with non-alcoholic options and list what’s available on the event page.

You don’t have to have it figured out.

Just pull up a chair.
